Fritters of Milkweed flowers

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 flower buds of milkweed blanched 2 times, drained and wiped dry
  • 1 liter of vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mix flour, salt and oil (1 teaspoon).
  • Gradually add milk and egg yolks, stirring well until a smooth dough.
  • Let stand 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Heat oil to 360 °F.
  • Coat the flower buds of dough, drain the excess and cook in hot oil until golden brown..
  • Place on paper towels on a plate kept in a hot oven (225 ° F) until ready to serve.
