The first flower that can be observed in early spring, sometimes late February through the snow.
Territory:
Southern Quebec, the plant does not reach the Laurentian Plateau (Candian Shield) because it does not support acid soils. They abound in the region of Quebec City.
Habitat:
Swamp forests especially maple with spring flooding areas.
Flowering:
In bloom in March sometimes late February, fruit in September
Similar:
No other plant looks like it, even after flowering its large leaves are easily distinguishable.
