Coptis trifolia

Although small, its beauty is worth the find.

At first glance one might believe to be looking at a viola or just a strawberry flower, but up close its unique appearance is revealed.

It's by its white sepals, which looks like petals, that we recognizes it.

The petals themselves are tiny, yellow, spoons shaped and, because of the nectar they produce, are shiny and sticky.
