Flora definition4/7
4) Protist
Like Bacteria Protist are unicellular, but unlike bacteria, the protists have a nucleus and organelles sets. This kindom splits into three according to the species affinity with plants (protophytes), with animals (protozoa) or with mushrooms (Mycetozoa).
The vast majority of protists that are visible to the naked eye in nature are part of the family Mycetozoa.
The Mycetozoa have common features with fungi and thus are often considered as mushrooms.
Although more numerous than visible Bacteria to the naked eye, the number of visible Protists in our flora is marginal.
