Flora definition1/7
1) Kingdom
Flora, in its broadest definition, includes all that is alive and who is not an animal. A few years ago, everything belonged to one or other of the following three kingdoms: Animal, Vegetable or Mineral. But now systematists (scientists of the classification of living) have set up to twelve kingdoms! The most usual systematic classification, as the one used here in Canada, includes only five kingdoms :
- Bacteria
- Protist
- Fungi (mushroom)
- Plantæ
- Animalæ
